Riddles & Puzzles

I've met many people over the years through this website. A few want to toss ideas around, some want to say thanks, and others have requests. Most stick around for an email or two, but some stick around for . . . more than a decade at this point. One such person is my friend, Matt, whose name you'll see atop several articles, where he has kindly acted as an added pair of eyes for my work (even these eyes get tired of Zelda articles at some point). We started emailing back and forth in 2014, and one of his emails ended with a riddle as a benediction. We began tossing riddles to one another after that, and at this moment we have over 250 (some yet unpublished). A former student of mine (from my days as a public school teacher), Tanner, has also devised many excellent riddles, and he has probably solved >90% at this point, which might be close to the record. Who knew that there were such people out there? It's been a long journey, but crafting and analyzing riddles has been a truly lovely pastime. These word-puzzles have kept me somewhat sane and grounded during years of work, travel, and doctoral studies (where I probably needed a break the most!). I hope that you, as reader, get some enjoyment out of this long labor of love. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Below, you'll find a series of Zelda-related riddles in three tiers of difficulty. These riddles span the entire franchise, though the vast majority come from the mainline Zelda titles. Each game in the series has contributed at least one riddle. Some are simple; some are obscure. Happy guessing!
